There is always some new flavor in Hollywood, and this year we're looking at eight up-and-comers who are just getting started. 2008's winner was Robert Pattinson, and it looks like the nail was hit right on the head as his star continues to rise! He has some vampire competition this year, but there are also a handful of talented actress giving established stars a run for their money. So, tell us — who's your favorite rising star of 2009?

1I beg to differ with Alexander giving Robert some competition. Robert is NO competition. Eric is so hot!
2im torn between alex and anna - but i chose anna. i always think of her from twilight but now that i know that she's in up in the air - i can appreciate that she's making big moves.
3Alex is not a rising star. It's not his fault America's typically behind on actors outside of their small scope of talent!

12In right now and VD is doing really well so that's why I choose him. I think Anna will do well too, she's my second pick. I've never seen true blood but I know who the guy is and I don't think he's a hot vampire at all, Rob is the sexiest and the hottest vamp ever! IMO!
Lea looks so beautiful in that picture you posted. She looks like she has a bit of chameleon in her, which makes for a GREAT star!

23Alexander Skarsgard all the way. It is unfortunate that he as been mostly on HBO programs in this country so not that many people have seen what an incredibly talented actor he is. His performance in Generation Kill on HBO in '08 was the best I have ever seen, and he is so convincingly talanted that in True Blood he makes me almost believe he is a vampire. Truly an actors actor with the good looks of a Hollywood hearthrob, he is amazing.
24Please you have got to be kidding me, Paul Wesley is a total wanna be clone of the Pattinson kid, his facial expressions, how he wears his hair, his trying to be pouty look. Sorry but he is a joke as an actor. If you are going to choose a male actor from Vampire Diaries at lest choose Ian, he may be a disposible look alike of so many other actors out there today but at least he is handsome and can act somewhat.

28I think that out of all of them, Anna Kendrick's going to have a brilliant career. She's lovely and so talented.
29So not that many are watching Glee and enjoying the awesomeness of Rachel? I mean, Dave Franco is hot and all, but that girl can sing.
I also think it's really funny that if anyone associated with Twilight is in a poll, that person tends to win. I like Twilight, but am not quite obsessed.

31I've seen her in some indie films and she's very talented. Plus, I just saw Up in the Air and she's brilliant in it too.
I despise Twilight and anything to do with it. I don't get the appeal. I know she's in the movies but I don't like her because she's in them.

I saw the first Twilight movie and could not believe those people could pass off as actors. It was hilarious. No way am I going to see the sequel. Yikes.
