i had to say taylor. she went from being little known to being a household name for most. i think this just goes to show that you can go mainstream...carrie showed us that before and taylor's really having success herself.

2yeah taylor all the way, whitney didn't even get near her old success, jimmy hasn't wowed me (and i am still mad at him, he said a movie was funny i went and was mad i wasted 10 bucks), Ellen... I adore her, but i've yet to see her on Idol and won't b/c that show is unbelievably overrated at this point, Brit hasn't surpassed past successes but she is on her way to getting better (hopefully, but she is no lady gaga, why isn't she on this list. i remember having her CD ages ago and people thought i was stupid, then she blew up this year, brit needs to take a hint and push the envelope again), Neil patrick is great but i'd like to see him do movies or something more and Taylor is it b/c she got me to listen to country, I don't do country, plus she is sweet and thats hard to find these days in the entertainment industry.
3Neil Patrick Harris & Tina Fey. Both are so funny and are finally being recognized for it. Tina and Lady Gaga should be on this list!

9Taylor's rise in popularity is not all due to the Kanye incident. She went from an opening act on the Rascal Flatts tour last year to headlining her own tour, selling out nearly every venue she played in. I'm sure the Kanye thing might have had something to do with a recent surge in Taylor supporters, but give the girl some credit. She worked hard and was rising fast on her own before he did anything.

but i love everyone in this category! and they definitely deserve every piece of success they get.

She also just made millions for 2 shows in Russia and has a worldwide tour commencing next year....so of course, I vote for Whitney.

23Whitney of course. Her voice is superb on her new Russian tours. Her CD is so melodious and hands down it's the best record of 2009. And her performance at AMA is just brilliant--no gimmicks, no half naked dancers, just her voice and her presence! Nuff said.

25Whitney Houston....hands down. Her "come through" has been nothing short of miraculous. Her new CD "I Look To You" is phenomenal. Whitney is sounding good and looking so gorgeous. Taylor Swift is talented but highly overrated. Swift should privately thank Kanye West for catapulting her to the top. Whitney Houston is the greatest voice of all time.
