Are You Still Surprised to See Jamie Lynn Pregnant?

Jamie Lynn Spears did some shopping at Babies R Us last week, proudly wearing a t-shirt that said "The Rumors are True" and showing off her shiny new engagement ring. She's been pretty upfront about the details of her pregnancy right from the start, but somehow it still feels a bit strange to see her growing baby bump. What do you think — are you still surprised to see Jamie Lynn pregnant?

Liola, I thought about that too. But during the time when women were getting married at 16 and starting families, those same women were MUCH more mature and capable. Many more responsibilities were laid on the shoulders of girls then at the ages of 8, 9 10 years old. They were absolutely ready to give birth by 16, because that's how they were raised. These days we are NOT ready. We are coddled, not given responsibility, essentially allowed to be "Children" until we are 18. In those days it was legal to smoke and drink at a young age, and we ALL know that's not right. Jamie Lynn AND her sister were much more coddled and protected than 99.9% of America. No way is Jamie Lynn any more ready than Brit was.

Fromanawithlove, how ironic that you assosciate your name with LOVE and then you spew such VENOM and HATE? She is a child, who unfortunutely finds herself in this situation.. She is dealing with her reality...She has made a courageous choice. You have no way of knowing what her future will be.. Wish her well or let her be.. I hope that you are never on the recieving end of your brand of spitefullness

for gods sake! com'on ! deal with it . to all the teenage moms or moms-2-b , it's YOUR FAULT so deal with it nobody told you to f*** a boy and then be pregnant and it's not just your fault it's your MOTHER'S FAULT coz they should've watch you and keep an eye on you and on every guy your dating or going out with at least give you (protection).

i dont think its a big deal quite alot of teenage girls around my areia are pregnant you get used to it after a while its not that bad

What ever happened to 16 yr olds acting like 16 yr olds? She's wayyyy too young to get married and far too young to be a parent. It's ridiculous. She's a kid. 16 yr olds should be worrying about getting their license, figuring out what they want to be when they grow up, and starting to date... we let our kids grow up way too fast, it's such a shame.

When I first heard she was pregnant at 16 I was suprised, and it is still odd to see her with her growing belly. Also, why is she wearing that shirt? How tacky...but then again she's a Spears!

mmm pink diaper bag? a wee girl on the way?? i am all pro woman and would love to see everyone live for themselves first, but the fact of the matter is that we all used to have children around this age to early 20s not so long ago. my how far the western world that the very purpose women were put on the earth is so friggen horrible. im sure its not even going to be an issue for this family as the nannies will be raising the baby anyway, huh?

I'm still shocked. I watch Zoey 101 with my little sister, they're the same age. So it's really hard for me to picture someone their age getting pregnant.

She seems a bit young to be having a baby! Honestly I think the Spears sisters have gone down the toilet! Briteny's completely lost it singing songs that she would never have sung if she was still that "Oops I Did It Again", "Hit Me Baby One More Time" girl and now her sister is pregnant!!!
