Zooey Deschanel Interview Critics Choice Awards (Video)

Well, congratulations. Thank you. Very exciting. Thank you. I got to talk to some of your co-stars on the red carpet before the show, including Justin Long. Lots of winners back here. I told them I'd stalk them at every awards show 'cause I love them so much. Kind of a great one, right? Yeah. Well, Justin on the red carpet was saying that he would love to maybe come back in the future and do another sex scene. I would love to see that. He's great. He's hilarious. Well, he's getting married to Asian Jess, so you don't know. There you go, you never know. Well, I'm saying he would be not a good man if he was cheating on Asian. True. Horrible, right? That guy. Well, tell me a little bit about the show because one thing that I think appeals to people so much about Jess, is that she is a-dorkable, but she's also really confident. Is that something you brought to the role on purpose, kind of? Well I think that, yeah, she's totally herself. I think that was something I liked about her, that she is all at once very awkward but she isn't afraid to be herself. Right. And I love that. She goes for it. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Now do you think Nick and Jess are gonna happen next season? I don't know - I actually have no idea. We'd have better luck asking the writers. But I'm pretty excited to see what they do with the characters, yeah. Now one last question. Our beauty team wanted to know where you get all your inspiration for your cool nail art that you're always trying out? Oh, you know, the thing about the nail art is it's just pure, I think about it. I love nail art. This is so stupid. No, it's fun. No, I really like nail art and I think about it, you know, 'cause it's summertime so I went with Like a yellow theme. That's pretty fantastic. But I felt like I was sort of inspired by like sort of a Victorian beach theme. You know, when you see the old-fashioned bathers, the little bathing costumes and they have the little changing booths on the beach. Exactly. That's what I thought of with the little stripes. And then there's like little 3D bow. That's perfect. So it felt summery. Exactly. Well, congratulations. Thank you so much. Thank you. I appreciate it.
