We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!

Luxury shoe designer Brian Atwood has a cult of celebrity fans, including Victoria Beckham and Rachel Bilson, and now he’s announced that he will design a more affordable collection of covetable heels, B Brian Atwood. The line, which hits department stores next fall, will retail from $200-$500, which is still quite a difference from his regular red carpet stunners—these Weston slingbacks (at left) have a price tag of almost $900! “The cool, East Village girls who have great style are kind of a muse,” Atwood told WWD of the collection’s design philosophy.

“Our brand essence is fun. It is lipstick, boys and killer heels.”

Beyonce Models Double-Header for House of Dereon

We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!

The multi-talented Beyonce is the star of the latest ad campaigns for Dereon and House of Dereon, the two lines she designs with her mother Tina Knowles. The singer channels a futuristic biker chick for Dereon’s Fall ads (left), wearing a black sharp-shouldered minidress, tons of oversize jewels, spiky boots and an edgy blond coiff. But for the couture line, House of Dereon, her look is a sharp contrast (right): Beyonce is reminiscent of 1940s screen sirens Marlene Dietrich and Lena Horne, modeling gorgeous gowns, red lips and pin-up curls. “These two campaigns feature Beyonce, but that is where the similarity ends. They are so different in mood, reflecting the distinction between the two brands,” Tina Knowles said in a statement. We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!

Oscar-nominated actress Naomi Watts is taking on a brand new role: model. She’s been tapped to be the face of Ann Taylor’s fall campaign. Following in the footsteps of previous ad stars Milla Jovovich and Heidi Klum, Naomi posed for legendary fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh in the collection, which a release noted “was inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast and focuses on mixing European sophistication with timeless American style.” Fall 2010 marks the one-year anniversary of head designer Lisa Axelson—who’s done some amazing things for the brand—and the new collection includes plenty of chic staples, including little black dresses, statement jewels, leopard print, and luxe coats. Watts is certainly perfect for the part—in our opinion, the cool blonde epitomizes classic style, as you can see in this exclusive behind-the-scenes shot. For more on Ann Taylor and the fall line, visit the brand on Facebook, and make sure to flip through the AT Insider tab, which features quizzes, videos, and exclusive deals. Calvin Klein Recreates Iconic Clueless Dress

Cher's wardrobe in Clueless literally changed my life and apparently I’m not alone: Ilaria Urbinati, celebrity stylist and co-owner of the L.A.

Cher's wardrobe in Clueless literally changed my life and apparently I’m not alone: Ilaria Urbinati, celebrity stylist and co-owner of the L.A. boutique Confederacy, gushed about her love of the film’s fashion when she was introduced to Calvin Klein Creative Director Francisco Costa. "I sort of geeked out on him, [explaining] how my formative-years love of Calvin Klein was partly based on the little white minidress Alicia Silverstone wears in Clueless," Urbanati told us. "I reenacted the entire scene with Cher and her father—'Cher, what are you wearing?' 'A dress!' 'Says who?' 'Calvin Klein!'—and of course I said, ‘Francisco, you need to remake that dress!'"

A Brief History of Pop's Biggest Bra Moments

We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!

So far, it's been a very big year for what we here at InStyle.com like to call "the statement bra." Everyone from Rihanna to Lady Gaga has recently donned at least one of the attention-getting garments—not-so-intimates for which support seems almost entirely beside the point.

"California Gurls" singer Katy Perry is a particular proponent of the pop-star-friendly trend—she appeared at Canada’s MuchMusic Video Awards in this sparkling pink number on Sunday—but we've done a little digging and found that female musicians have been working the underwear-as-outerwear thing since way before the 25-year-old was born. Click on the gallery to see a brief history of pop’s biggest bra moments.

Megan Fox’s Tiny Waist Secret: Corsets

We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!

We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!

Megan Fox will soon appear in the comic book adaptation Jonah Hex, which takes place in the Wild West, but all anyone who’s seen the trailer wants to talk about is her tiny waist. “It’s small,” the star admitted to MTV. With the help of vintage corsets, she explained, “we got it down to about 18 inches.” That, you may recall, is Scarlett O’Hara territory. Megan said she wouldn’t mind if the close-fitting foundation garments made a comeback: “I enjoy them . . . maybe I’m sick,” she joked. But after hearing that the ones she wore in the film “would leave these deep grooves, these deep indents from the boning in the corsets, for the whole next day,” we’re happy to leave them in the past. Do you think corsets should have a place in your closet? Tell us in the comments below.

Kristin Davis’s Parade of Vintage Style

We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!

Kristin Davis has looked incredible on the red carpet as she promotes SATC2, and it’s not because she’s wearing the hottest runway looks of the season: The actress has chosen at least five different vintage looks from Decades, Inc., a vintage couture consignment boutique. Most recently she debuted a soft yellow Jean Patou Haute Couture dress by Christian Lacroix in Japan, then a gold sequin Norman Norell gown and a green Christian Dior Couture frock for the London fetes. She began her vintage couture parade with a hot pink Jean Desses gown at the N.Y.C. premiere and a glittering Pierre Balmain dress for the after-party. “Kristin is a good friend. She has a tiny ribcage and even tinier waist–it lends itself to the vintage aesthetic,” Cameron Silver, owner of the famous boutique, told us. As for the most sought-after items at the store, like Dior from the early ’50s and anything Balmain: “It’s first come, first serve–except when it comes to Kristin! She gets first dibs on everything!’

The New Hot Hemline

We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!

It’s official: The formerly-dowdy tea-length dress is having a chic revival, thanks to Marc Jacobs’ ladylike designs for Louis Vuitton and stylish celebrity fans such as Gemma Arterton, Alexa Chung, and Kirsten Dunst. All three stars chose skirts or dresses that hit their mid-calves, straight from the Fall 2010 Runway, for the launch of the Louis Vuitton Bond Street Maison in London last night, and on them the retro silhouette looked anything but old. They key to keeping this shape looking fresh and youthful rather than frumpy? Highlight a slim waist with a voluminous skirt that shows off dainty ankles . . . and a great pair of killer pumps.

Jennifer Lopez wowed the crowds at the World Music Awards in Monaco yesterday wearing three glamorous designs by Roberto Cavalli: She posed on the red carpet in a plunging leopard-print halter gown paired with a snakeskin clutch and silver bangles and rocked the stage with a medley of her greatest hits in a sequined and fringed minidress paired with thigh-high boots. She then accepted the prestigious Legend for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts award (past winners include Michael Jackson, Elton John and Madonna) wearing a backless gold and black tiger-print gown with a feathered train. Lopez is a true fan of Cavalli’s sexy cuts and sensational prints (she chose his ensembles for her 40th birthday celebration and onstage duets with husband Marc Anthony) and a friend as well: Cavalli loaned the couple his yacht this week, where they’ve been spotted cruising the French Riviera with their adorable twins, Emme and Max.

Katy Perry’s Wedding Dress: New Details!

We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!

At the annual P.S. Arts Bag Lunch in L.A. Katy Perry admitted to fantasizing about an “all Chanel” wedding wardrobe, but sentimentality may prevail when she decides what to wear to marry comedian Russell Brand. “A Galliano [gown] would be very poignant for our relationship. Our first outing was to the Galliano show in Paris, so it would take everything full circle. We have been talking to him,” Perry told us. “I want my dress to be ornate and detailed and cinched and beautiful.” The singer also vowed not to get stressed out over all the other nuptial details. “Our schedules are hectic, but it will probably happen this year. I always said that I’d be married and buried in Santa Barbara, but I think I might do a location wedding instead,” she admitted. “When someone comes up to me and says, ‘I’m getting married too!’ and they’ve been tanning and working out for weeks, I can see they’re completely burnt out. I’m not going to be that crazy person—I just want it to be about the love!“

Bid on Gap’s Met Ball Gowns!

We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!

Jessica Alba, Zoe Kravitz, Kirsten Dunst and Kerry Washington looked stunning in their one-of-a-kind Gap designs at Monday night’s Met gala, and now the amazing creations are up for auction on Gap.com! Designers Sophie Theallet (whose looks graced Alba and Vera Farmiga), Alexander Wang (who dressed Kravitz and M.I.A.), Rodarte (who outfitted Dunst and Jamie Bochert) and Thakoon (who dressed Washington and Riley Keogh) were commissioned by Gap creative director Patrick Robinson to interpret this year’s Costume Institute theme, “American Woman.” “What’s brilliant about [the collaboration] is that it’s not just about the designer, it’s about the person wearing the gowns,” Robinson told us. “If you look at them all together, it’s a beautiful blend of America.” For Robinson, the auction extends the brand’s approachable take on star style. “It’s important that people can connect with the style and with what being a celeb is like for a moment,” he said. “[The auction] is more of a personal way to experience it.” Gap’s gala gown auction runs from May 5 to May 31.

Alba & Hudson Dish On Retro Costumes

We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!

One of the upsides to filming The Killer Inside Me for Jessica Alba (in Chloe) and Kate Hudson (in Louis Vuitton)? The vintage ’50s wardrobe.

“I love vintage, so it was really amazing,” Alba told us at the film’s Tribeca Film Festival premiere. “But I’m glad we’ve moved on from those corset and itchy fabrics and everything!” For Hudson, the flashback fashion took some getting used to at first. “It’s so not me! I’m not used to the A-line. The whole ’50s look is new to me,” she said. “I feel like I was mainly in slips though. The bras are what I found interesting because they were cone bras! I got into it though, it was fun!”

Hudson might even be a retro fashion convert: “The was this [rose dress] that I really loved.” Click on the gallery to get a sneak peek at the actresses in costume on set.

Flatter Your Figure With Color

We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!

Colorful pieces will not only brighten your wardrobe, they can also flatter your shape. Whether you want to accentuate those curves or look slimmer, here are three easy ways you can use color to play up your best assets. For a highlighted waist, pair an LBD with a bright belt like Gabrielle Union. The bold color against a dark backdrop draws eyes to the narrowest part of your midsection. Want to elongate your legs? Place the belt a little bit higher on your waist. For more hot color tips, check out the April issue of InStyle, on newsstands now — and click on for the other two tips to flatter your figure with color.
