Last night in New York City, Prada threw a party in honour of the movie, The Great Gatsby where they were able to show off the very special wardrobe from the film created by Miuccia Prada and costume designer Catherine Marti. Guests included leading lady Carey Mulligan, Florence Welch, Alexa Chung, Isla Fisher and more who were all clad in Miu Miu and Prada. The Mirror has just reported that 28 year old Keira Knightley is set to wed her 29 year old rock and roll flame James Righton in the South of France this weekend. After a year of being engaged, the blushing bride has apparently chosen Provence as their destination site, where they will have an intimate ceremony with approximately 100 guests.
Back in January, Keira was rumoured to be trying on gowns at Chanel, which is no big surprise as she and Karl Lagerfeld have become quite close. Over the weekend, Victoria Beckham revealed that she is quite interested in launching a high end fragrance. At the Vogue Festival she told Alexandra Shulman, "At some point, I think it would definitely be a great thing to do. It's about finding the right time and the right partner — a partner that would give me the control that I would want." Since this isn't new territory for Mrs. B, who has helped create and release over 20 scents (that you can shop here) with her sexy hubby David and megabrand Coty, but apparently this time around, she would really prefer full control over the creative process. She said, "I don't have any licensing deals. I own everything myself, with David and with Simon Fuller. I don't want to give up any control — I'm a perfectionist."

The teaser for the new Coco Chanel short starring Keira Knightley (who is also the face of Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle ads) called Once Upon a Time is finally here. Directed by Karl Lagerfeld, featuring Clotilde Hesme, Stella Tennant, Lindsey Wixon, Jamie Bochert, Lady Amanda Harlech and her daughter, Tallulah, Baptiste Giabiconi, Brad Kroenig and his son, Mr. Lagerfeld wanted his muses and favourite friends of the brand to be part of the project which focuses on the evolving Edwardian-influenced, social customs of the time. He told WWD , "There was a kind of luxury and elegance, for the ones that had money." He happened to also design the cream-coloured based wardrobe for Keira and Clotilde (who plays Coco's aunt), whilst the rest of the cast and street extras wore more historic costumes from the 1913 era.
The short will be seen by an audience for the first time on 8th May in Singapore at the 100th anniversary of the opening of the first Chanel boutique in Deauville. Following the screening, you will be able to watch it on chanelnews.com.

It has just been announced that the latest launch from Chanel called, Le Volume de Chanel Mascara which is part of the Jeux de Regards collection, is going to be made available in vending machines placed in Selfridges Beauty Halls from 25th April to 8th May. Talk about instant gratification — shopping has never been this easy and this much fun!
What makes this mascara so unique is the newly created "snowflake brush" that is the first of its kind to create longer, plumper and thicker lashes. It is designed with stacks of little disks attached to stiff bristles that evenly coat each lash, and short bristles that lengthen and separate the lashes. Even more impressive is its quick drying formula which is something I'll appreciate since I hate having to wait for my mascara to dry before applying eyeliner. Pretty cool technology, I'd say.

For an appearance at the National Portrait Gallery in central London yesterday, The Duchess od Cambridge donned another beautiful high brow dress from Chelsea designer Emilia Wickstead. The frock, which is non-maternity, although bespoke, is a shimmery pale blue shade with a jacquard pattern that she paired with grey suede court shoes. Kate not only looked lovely during her outing, but the visit was well worth all of the primping. It's not just Brits that love them some Smythson, it appears that all over the States, this classic UK brand that's been around for over 125 years has been ever popular on the red carpet. For example, last night in New York City, actress Olivia Munn carried the Floating Box Clutch (£595) in gold satin with gold trim to the 2013 Tine 100 Gala. Last week, Amanda Peet carried the same bag in black suede to a premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, whilst Hilary Swank also carried an Envelope Clutch in gold (£450) to a pre-Oscar party in February. YSL has topped themselves the industry this season, literally, by introducing a new top coat called Tie & Dye (£21). Perfect for Summer, it comes in four shades of purple, blue, orange and Pop pink. What makes this topcoat so unique is that it is comprised of three different layers in one bottle that allows you to create different effects on your nail.
The bottom layer is a glittery frost, the centre layer is a sheer colour (to coordinate with each of the opaque nail varnishes in the Summer range) and the top layer is your average translucent topcoat. On Sunday, The Duchess of Cambridge was spotted wearing a beautiful pastel green Mulberry Mint Cotton Tweed Frayed Coat (£1,750) at a celebration for scouts who have achieved their Queen's Scout Awards at Windsor Castle. Today, she also donned a designer piece, this time, a gorgeous blue and pink silk crepe Sophia dress from Erdem (£1,065) for a school counseling event in Manchester that she paired with blue suede heels.
This is a bit of a break away from her typical High Street wares, although she has certainly been spotted in Erdem on several other past occasions. It's nice to see Kate in colour and she is looking quite well during her sixth month of pregnancy. Talk about putting a positive spin on a negative situation. It appears that John Galliano, former designer of the House of Dior who was fired from his elite roll after erm, an arrest for assault and disorderly conduct, to put it gently. Ever since the incident back in February, 2011, the press has not let up on disparaging him, despite his efforts to start his own line and even design Kate Moss's wedding dress.
However, now it seems that things are looking a litter brighter for the avant garde designer. Fashion design college, The Parsons New School in New York City, has hired Galliano to teach a masterclass workshop to senior level students called Show Me Emotion. The goal of the three-day class is to voyage into the world of emotion as it relates to the fashion design process. Students need to apply with a video or essay expressing their interest along with recommendations from teachers and they must meet a grade point average of 3.0. Only 20 will be chosen to participate.

It's hard to believe this is really happening in the world of headgear, but ladies, brace yourselves for a new, updated look at the races and during wedding season this year. Philip Treacy, milliner to superstars like Lady Gaga, Kate Middleton and a multitude of Royals around the world, proclaimed to the The Times, yesterday,
"The fascinator is dead and I’m delighted … The word fascinator sounds like a dodgy sex toy and what’s so fascinating about a fascinator? Mass production means that they became so cheap to produce that now they are no more than headbands with a feather stuck on with a glue gun. We’re seeing a return to proper hats."
It's not only Philip Treacy who thinks this tradition and trend should be dead and gone, it's Ascot too. They were outlawed last year in the dress code guidelines, and this year as well.
