Remember the dress-up paper dolls that we used to play with as kids? A couple of days back, The Tod and I embarked on a lil crafty project — a similar concept at paper dress-up dolls, but life-size!

Motherhood can be a mind-boggler! Betty Wayne posted this funny conversation with her daughter in the Mommy Club group in the LilSugar Community.
When my daughter was about 4 she saw me taking my birth control pill and asked what it was. "Oh it makes me not have babies," I said, naively thinking it was a throw-away comment that she would never remember.
She's 6 1/2 now and a few days ago came to me in all seriousness, out of nowhere, and asked, "Mommy where do you get that medicine that makes you not have babies?"
"At the same place I get all my medicine." Face meets palm... now.
"Yes but where?" She asked again, urgently.
"At the pharmacy sweetie, why?"
Then she looked at me with a look of deep distress and said, "Mommy I need to get that medicine because I don't want to have a baby." I tried not to laugh as I explained that girls can't have babies until they're teenagers and promised to get her that medicine when she's big. Still worried she asked, "But mommy what if I forget?"
So I promised I would remember. Here's to hoping she's still open and eager to talk birth control when she needs it!

Over the weekend I updated our almost 2-year-old son Seth's room so that it would be more functional for him. It was definitely in bad shape. No space to play, curtains that were way too short and boring. It basically felt like a box with a ton of wood furniture in it.
There really wasn't a budget to do anything extravagant, but changes needed to be made. So I got rid of a dresser, made curtains from a flat sheet, stole storage from our own closet for better and more accessible toy storage, added some free art, and painted a wall with chalkboard paint we made at home.

I recently threw a baby shower for Sugar Inc.'s own Director of Fashion, Ashley Patterson, and couldn't have done it without the help of LilSugar! One of the highlights of the shower was filling out and sharing the adorable keepsakes I downloaded off LilSugar — "Wishes for Baby!"

This was a super easy project to do in a day. I started off with an old toy box that was sitting in my garage.

At 20 weeks we found out we were having a boy. We were so excited, we already had a girl who was 2-years-old. However there was something wrong in the sonogram and they sent my husband and I, with our daughter to a children's cardiologist to look at the enlarged atrium they uncovered. We were so nervous. After six hours trying to get a fetal ECHO, the doctor came in and believed that it was a coarctation of the aorta. It was a common procedure for the heart surgeon to fix. Every month I went for a follow-up with them and for growth and weight. I also had my regular OB/GYN appointments. I felt pretty positive that things would be OK.
It was the day before Easter. I was 33 weeks. I just came back from a 1-year-old birthday party. I decided to take my daughter to my mother-in-law's with me so I could help prepare dinner for the following day. While stuffing artichokes I started to feel cramps, but thought nothing about it. I figured it was Braxton Hicks. This went on for about an hour before my husband told me to call the doctor. He told me to come in to the hospital, he was on call, to get checked out. The hospital that I was suppose to deliver in, was 15 min away and a children's hospital. He figured he would give me a shot and I would be on my way.
However that didn't happen. I was already 3 cm dilated. I was told that they were going to give me a drug to try and stop the labor for three days, and they were going to give me two shots in the butt to help the baby's lungs. We knew we had to get over to the other hospital just in case. Although the staff kept on assuring me that even if the baby needs care, this was a really good hospital with some of the same rotating doctors, and if needed, the baby could be transported without a problem. I wanted to be with my child and not be in a different hospital. Thank goodness for my doctor who already called EMS to transfer me since the baby and I were stable. I labored through the whole transport with myself only being monitored, which at that time I didn't think anything of.

Welcome to the club! Pink-elephant asks our readers for some prenatal exercise advice in The Mommy Club group.
I recently discovered that I am pregnant with our first child, so I am a little new on the best health care and fitness techniques. I have heard that moderate exercise and eating small healthy meals throughout the day is key, as well as taking my prenatal vitamins, however I am a bit confused as to what type of moderate exercises or stretches I should be doing to remain healthy, as well as to prepare for delivery. Normally, my husband and I take walks around our neighborhood but with this heavy heatwave going on, we have been pretty much confined to the indoors. Any advice? What did you do to stay healthy and fit during your pregnancy??
