Well, I don't have the budget for some of these ideas, but I like to window-shop and get inspiration. I *do* love Repettos; they're made so well and go with everything. And now I want to track down those lavender macarons to see if they're better than those at Ladurée. I've been to the Hemingway Bar once — I'm a big fan of Papa's writing, so I hoped to siphon some of his spirit with spirits. The cocktail are pricey and you need to be properly dressed-with-a-capital-D. I was 25 and watching every penny, so on my last night in Paris, I spent my dinner budget on falafel in the Marais and a drink at the Ritz. It's one of my favorite Paris memories. The drink itself was perfect, presented with a flower, and the bartender was charming. I wrote in my journal and watched as a couple across from me ordered drinks and nibbles like it was going out of style. And seeing the inside of the Ritz was a treat. To me, it was worth every centime to have the experience. Still waiting for Hemingway's talent to arrive in my brain, though... ;)
