Beauty Flashback: Mr. Bubble

There's something innocent and sweet about this old Mr. Bubble commercial, which features a screechy grandmother trying to get little Hubert to take a bath. Granny needs some new spectacles (check out where she hangs up the phone) and Hubert seems a handful.

The spot was created in the 1960s by former Disney animators Art Babbitt and John Hubley. Fun fact: The latter was known for featuring his children's voices in his work, and it paid off — his daughter, Georgia, is the frontwoman for indie-rock group Yo La Tengo.

Wow only 49 cents, I like that! My ex-bf had never had a bubble bath in his life, so I bought some Mr Bubbles and ... well let's just say that bottle of Mr. Bubbles didn't cost 49 cents!
