Bellissima! A Perm For Your Eyelashes

We've heard all about lash extensions for length, but eyelash perms are strictly for curl. The Japanese Eyelash Perm, offered at salons such as Takamichi Head to Toe Hair Salon in New York City, is becoming a popular way to have semi-permanent, flirty lashes.

The procedure can take anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes, it costs around $80 and lasts between three to five weeks. To begin, your lashes get curled over rubber rollers. Then, chemical solutions are applied; and finally, your lashes get a conditioning. This sounds just like a perm! Considering that false eyelashes take at least eight to 10 minutes to apply and another five to take off, I think the investment is time-efficient. Would you ever consider a lash perm?

I have been a professional eyelash perm technician for 10 years. "Eyelash perm" is very commo procedure in Japan and most of Japanese women in Tokyo have this every month. This is very safe and convenient procedure. If you are interested, you can refer to my website for details. www.salondegrace.com If you have any questions, please email me anytime!

I have always considered this. I have super stubborn eyelashes, so getting them permed professionally would probably be a big help. One of my friends came back from Japan with permed eyelashes and they looked great.

Yeah, they are around $15 in Korea. Apparently everyone gets them. I went into the salon and started the treatment, but my eyes got really sort of irritated, so I said I wanted to stop. I guess some people are allergic to the chemicals? Supposedly it's not dangerous, but I was scared I would go blind or something. haha

I saw them do this on TV and it looked harmless and worked well but there is something weird/scary about putting a chemical like perm so close to the eye!

i had my eyelashes permed when i went to the philippines-- they made me sign a waiver and in the middle of the treatment my eyelids got really itchy and i half panicked... but eventually they took off whatever they used to cover my eyelids and now i nicely permed eyelashes. i did that like 3 weeks ago and they still haven't straightened out. pretty good for what amounted to $10 US

It seems as if everyone who has done this has absolutely loved it and everyone who hasn't has nothing but bad things to say about it....Hmmmm

I didn't have any side effects and mine was very inexpensive. I still have gorgeous long lashes. Plus the hair is contantly renewing itself so lashes won't weaken and "break".

My eyes are far too sensitive to even consider something like that. I'll stick to an eyelash curler.

Sounds like a waste of money, and kind of risky! I'd be afraid of side effects too.

I got this done a few months ago. I have long eyelashes and it made them look red carpet ready. I didn't even have to use mascara in the morning. Very wonderful. No side effects and I have extremely sensitive skin. I asked before-hand. I got mine done at Aveda for like 40 dollars.

Just like a perm for the hair, I would imagine these wouldn't be too good for your lashes over time.

No thanks. I already have long eyelashes.

Is it safe to put chemicals that close to your eyes? I'd be afraid that my eyelashes would fall out!

my lashes half curl naturally half don't- so i'd be interested in this- however, i agree with a bunch of you who say i'd be very wary about chemicals so close to my eyes! i'm blind enough as it is with out going blind from chemicals

i've tried this. i'm also asian and therefore have straight lashes. one of my friends is a esthetician and does facials as well as the lash perm and lash extensions. it curled my lashes and made them very "cute" and girly--- it lasted for almost 2 months. it's something that's totally worth it... the chemicals are not as harsh as a real perm and your eyes are closed during the whole process.
