Best Deep Conditioners

BellaSugar's Top Five Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment Picks

I use a blow-dryer every time I wash my hair, and unfortunately that sets me on the fast track to Split Ends city. So I try to apply a hot oil treatment, a mask or a deep conditioner on my hair at least once a week to help restore moisture and shine.

My absolute favorite hair mask is a light product from Kerastase called Masquintense ($49.99). It leaves my hair looking shiny, bright and never ever weighed down. Because it's so expensive, I also like to alternate this with the beloved Alberto VO5 Hot Oil Treatment ($3.99). I've said before that I'm a big fan of their products and this is definitely a hair care item that I can't live without. Below are more of my favorite hair treatment picks; what are some of your favorites?

  • Leonor Greyl Masque Fleurs de Jasmin ($53) smells like a garden full of fresh cut flowers. It has a light texture that makes hair feel soft and smooth, and it doesn't leave behind any slimy, grimy residue.
  • Matrix Logics DNA Color Vitalizing Treatment Masque ($24.99) is so rich that all you need is a little bit on the ends for instantaneous results. It has a fresh, light scent that I love.
  • Philip Kingsley Elasticizer ($42-$125) is a great way to add moisture to your hair and help beat out some of the frazzled, frizzy ends. It penetrates deeply since it comes with a plastic cap that you use under heat to activate the ingredients. The result is smooth, energized and sun-protected hair — and it contains SPF, too.

I've used the Body Shop's Brazil Nut hair mask stuff, and Aussie deep conditioner for long hair, and some other random things I got in England, but I'm always looking for new and better deep conditioners, given that my hair is waist-length and always in need of TLC.

I love this one by Biolage that is called a hydrating balm, I think. It's so thick that a little goes a long way.

I love Elasticizer - great pick Bella - I heard a few stars used it, picked it up and haven't looked back since. It works wonders on my dyed hair, but isn't too moisture-filled that my friends with naturally coloured strands can't use it too. J'adore!

I really like Ojon Restorative Treatment. A lot of people can't get over the smell, but I don't mind it.

Pureology Hydra Cure Intense Moisture Hair Masque literally changed my life. Hee. My hair went from wavy, coarse, dry and curly to perfectly smooth and sleek--yet still with bounce and body. I always wear it straight, so it's instantly repaired years of damage. I can't even count how many people have commented on my hair since I started using it. My hairdresser sells it $40 for a small tub (same size as the Pantene) so it's pricey but worth every single cent!

martinilush... i love neem oil also... a really good organic (and reasonable) one is from mountain rose herbs you can get it online. if you mix it w/a lil raw coconut oil... it cuts down on the 'earthy' smell.

Pantene Pro-V Breakage Defense Deep Conditioning Mask. The best part about this deep conditioner is I can leave it in as long as I want. Yes, I have taken naps with a shower cap and a towel on my head. Lol.

I absolutely adore neem hair oil as a weekly treatment - it is amazing for my hair (but you really have to wash your hair well to get it out!) My hairdresser was so impressed with the state of my hair, she has started using it too! I usually get mine at the Indian grocery store, but if they are out, Dr. Haushka carries a good version, but it is a bit pricey!
