The Best Hairbrush for Blowouts

Last Night a Hairbrush Saved My Life

Readers, I have fallen off the wagon. I have a strange desire (during this particularly humid week) to blow-dry my hair straight. I know it's not the best thing for my hair, but this time I got a reinforcement: I bought Conair’s Infiniti Tourmaline Brush ($12.99) after realizing I no longer even owned a round-barrel brush.

I've had blowouts in swank salons where they hold a round brush upright at the end and pull it straight down to create a perfect wave at the bottom of your hair. The spiral openings in this Tourmaline-infused brush some how make it possible to do that yourself, without getting one strand of hair caught on the bristles (OK, or handle. I have a lot of hair). Do you guys have a Holy Grail hair brush?

I have long thick wavy hair and the S-Factor ceramic round brush from toni & guy was my saving grace: http://www.sleekhair.com/1692.html It's huge! So it makes a beautiful blow out easy to do myself and takes only a few minutes.

we have monroe brushes at work that we sell -- for a sleeker blow out, less waves more smooth -- try an ovular brush. the ones we have have first cut boar's hair bristles as well as plastic bristles which grip your hair super well. you use it just like a round brush but you just get a less round result

I adore my T3 small round brush and plan on buying the medium or large version soon (since I am growing out my shoulder length hair.) It never tangles! Plus, it does work so well with my T3 dryer.

Bellaressa - lol, I am getting this brush tomorrow if I can find it! Oh, and this week so far, I have only bought 3 pairs of shoes from Nordstrom. ;-)

I didn't like the brush -- I tossed mine. :| My favorite round brushes are the Spornette Prego 270 and 275: http://www.spornette.com/prego.html. I use both when drying my hair.

bella you should post a vid of the blow-dry technique you mentioned, because i honestly can't imagine it. blow drying is the bane of my existence, it will truly kill me one day, of this i am sure. but w/ my latest disaster of a hair cut, i'm doomed to straighten or i have a nasty pile of mushroom shaped frizzy worms atop my crown :)

ChristinaMUFE ---is that the silver flat one or no. I got a flat brush free and it's a great tool.

I think you should. The retractable one is great especially if your no expert of the round brush technique - I am a work in progress. The flat brush - I am all on top of that. What have you bought this week?

Wow, I need to buy one of these brushes! Bellaressa - not a word! LOL! :rotfl:

I love this brush too, Bella. They also have one that retracts if your hair gets tangled. I have that one too.
