Bobbi Brown Extra Soothing Balm

Bellissima! Bobbi Brown Extra Soothing Balm

Attention all of you body-balm fans out there. This post is chock full of products that I know you'll love! I first became addicted to body salves about a year ago when I discovered this amazing wonderbalm. The smooth, hydrating, and soothing formulas are a great panacea for dry-skin issues since they can be used on your knees, elbows, lips, hands, and cuticles. It was love at first use and ever since I have been collecting more and more in search of the absolute bomb-diggity of balms.

For a while I swore by the pint-sized Smith's Rosebud Salve, but when I was introduced to Liz Earl's Superbalm in November, I became addicted for five months straight. I still think it has the best scent of them all, but my latest acquisition is the Bobbi Brown Extra Soothing Balm ($55).

Bobbi Brown has always been a brand I turn to when I'm looking for good quality basics. This rich, avocado, rosemary oil, beeswax, and geranium enhanced balm has been my saving grace during the cold weather of the past few months. I love the dense texture and because it contains shea butter, it is extra conditioning.

I hate wasting good product on my feet, but I will say that rubbing a little bit into the skin around my toes and heels has really helped keep my pedicure looking fresh. I know that sounds strange, but try it — it works! What's your favorite body balm?

No thanks I'll stick with my body shop body butter and my shea butter cream.

I love any of the Body Shops Body Butter products. Living in Wisconsin, they are a life saver for dry skin! And they have such a wide variety of scents I can always find one to fit my mood!

Not really a "balm," but I adore Origins A Perfect World body moisturizer--the thick one that comes in a tub. It smells delicious, and it's so soothing and softening.

Whoa, $55? That's a little steep for me. I usually use cocoa butter on my skin, especially in the winter. It's cheap and it really works and keeps my skin soft and smooth.

I love Bobbi Brown, really I do, but I cringe enough when I spend $40 on a tinted moisturizer. No way am I spending $55 on a body balm. I'll stick with my body butters from Body Shop or VS - I go through them quite fast, so I can't justify spending big bucks. The Liz Earle balm does look quite nice, though.

Aquaphor is super thick and amazing for parched, ashy skin in the winter. I love the mini version that I can tuck into my makeup bag and its only $1.99! And if its good enough for celebrities like Lucy Liu, its good enough for me. =)

Burt's Bees, baby. it's the only body balm that doesn't irritate my sensitive skin but doesn't smell like a damn hospital, either. i've been meaning to try Clinique's, though, because I LURVE their body scrub.

$55 is a little too much to pay for this, I think...Bobbi Brown products are nice, but I don't think I'd pay that. I love the Smith's Strawberry Salve, and I also have one by Burt's Bees that I like.
