Bobbi Brown Oil Control Lotion SPF 15

New Product Alert: Bobbi Brown Oil Control Lotion SPF 15

Bobbi Brown has launched a new facial moisturizer for Summer, Oil Control Lotion SPF 15 ($45). This milky, oil-free, lightweight moisturizer contains seaweed to soothe the skin and lavender to control redness, inflammation, and irritation.

It's hydrating, calming, and it leaves your complexion soft, supple, and best of all — during the muggy summertime months — matte. It is recommended especially for those with oily skin to normal skin, but it's fine for combination skin, too.

I love that my face is left feeling velvety and smooth — it's as though I've just applied a primer under my makeup. The only slight drawback is the scent. With all of that lavender you'd think it would mask the smell of sunscreen, but no such luck. It's not a deal breaker, but nonetheless, I thought I'd mention it.

Too low of an SPF for me. I'm really fair and prefer to have over SPF 30. I also have really dry skin so this probably would do nothing for me.

Sounds nice. I don't the smell of sunscreen, so the scent wouldn't bother me. I do like a higher SPF though.

Does it work very well as a primer? Because I've grown to love MAC Oil Control Lotion, but always end up having to combine it with Prep + Prime SPF 55 to get any sun protection, and this seems like a good way to reduce the number of products I use on an everyday basis...

This sounds pretty nice. I wonder if the L'Occitane rice-based mattifying fluid is any good, actually...I've been wanting to try that out as a summer moisturizer/mattifier. But this is definitely something else to consider.

If the scent fades quickly it definitely wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. I'll have to look for this one!

It sounds REALLY nice, perfect for summer...and I don't mind the smell of sunscreen, so the scent probably wouldn't bother me too much.
