If you go from long hair to short, is it an emotional roller coaster with an unhealthily high peak and some very low doldrums afterward? This funny little illustration from Gusto suggests that, at least to one art director, there's a discernible pattern when it comes to "girls" and haircuts. Lots of people (not just women, by the way) get the postcut blues. After all, it's natural to be excited by the novelty of a new style, and then eventually get nostalgic for your long hair and its versatility.
The best way to avoid short-cut regret is to find lots of ways to style your hair so you never feel like you've lost options. Instead, you've just given yourself a cool new set of looks that you could never have worn before. Do you think this is a fair representation of the haircut emotional cycle, though? Or are things a little more complex than this?
