Cool Lipstick Packaging

Take a Look at Totally Tubular Lipstick

There's something about an elegantly designed lipstick tube that's ineffably charming, and the thrill of pulling a beautiful object out of your purse is one of makeup junkiedom's small joys. So it's not surprising, then, that lots of brands offer tubes with outsides as lovely and covetable as the product within. If you love your design aesthetic as much as you love your lip color, you'll be pleased with the gorgeous caps and bases that are out right now. We carry The Balm, Paul & Joe, and the Cargo PlantLove lipstick at the boutique I work at, and I absolutely love them all! The Balm's lipsticks are really sheer and have very pretty shades (they have a beautiful nude shade), Paul & Joe's lipsticks are incredibly moisturizing, and Cargo's lipsticks are vibrant, plus they come in a compostable box implanted with seeds, so you can plant it and grow flowers!BUT I have to agree with what lizlee said, sometimes the packaging can be beautiful and you're stuck with a crappy product.

That's all fine and good; I do love these cases and I really love the special look of vintage ones; but what's true for books is true for lipstick - don't judge one by its cover. I bought this beautiful Revlon (not because of the case but because I liked the color on the cap) with this really cool, chic-looking, black, lattice case but the color was not tru and it smelled kind of wierd. On the other hand; a couple days later I bought another lipstick in this cheap-looking, purple, plastic case and it is now my favorite lipstick - goes on smoothly, stays on, and smells like candy (I kid you not; it's kind of addictive)...
