^ I agree, Anon 5. It's common in the U.S. to still dock ears and tails when dogs are still puppies, but I am very opposed to that. It's essentially cosmetic surgery and I don't care if it's done when the pups are "too young to remember". The concept is so archaic. If you're cropping a Doberman's ears because you think it looks tougher, or more elegant, or just all-around "better" with pointed ears, you are cosmetically enhancing your dog. When I bought my last dog (a breed common to tail-docking), I researched to find a breeder opposed to the practice. I think the practice is illegal in England... I wish the U.S. would follow suit.
