Nail polish made a comeback on the runway at Costello Tagliapietra, and the look had some serious ties to the collection itself. "We were inspired by the leather on some of the shoes in the collection," lead nail artist Michelle Saunders for Essie said. "The color is so great, and we matched it almost exactly." The heightened navy hue was actually created using three of Essie's polishes: a coat of Midnight Cami ($8) followed by a layer of Mademoiselle ($8), which was topped off with Matte About You ($10) for the leather texture.
For the hair, Nelson Vercher of ArtMix Beauty for Rita Hazan Salons used René Furterer products to create an inverted plait that was all about playing with the models' natural cowlicks. The makeup pulled from the mint greens and lavenders in the collection. Bright pastel hues were made more elegant with some mascara for definition and loads of gloss on the lips — a nice departure from the matte hues of seasons past.
