Victoria Beckham is unfailingly chic, but sometimes her love of clean lines leaves her looking a little angular. Not so last night at the British Fashion Awards, though, where she sparkled in this subtle and soft smoky eye. It's a lovely look if you don't want to wear dramatic geometrical liner and are tired of festive glitter shadow. To see how you can get it on your own, just keep reading.
- Instead of waterlining your eyes with a black pencil, which can look harsh, use a softer dark brown-black like Rimmel Kajal Eye Pencil in Sable Brown ($3) to waterline your upper and lower rims.
- Then, sweep a transparent white gold shadow like Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Eyeshadow in Gold ($15) from the inner corner of your eye to just over your the top of your iris. Dust a dove gray shadow like Laura Mercier Matte Eye Colour in Twilight Grey ($22) across your lids, and blend.
- To create your "smoky" effect, use a matte dark taupe shadow like Dior 1-Colour Extreme Eyeshadow in Trendy Taupe ($28) on the outer third of your lids, then use a liner brush or an applicator tip to line your bottom lash line with it. Remember to blend and smudge everything out thoroughly.
- Finish with several coats of carbon black mascara on both your upper and lower lashes.
