At Derek Lam Spring 2014, the bold colors of the collection didn't surface in the beauty look. The hair, makeup, and nails circulated around one concept: minimalism. Lead makeup artist Tom Pecheux used a soon-to-be-released antique gold cream shadow from Estée Lauder on the eyes as a base. Then he created three different looks using a midnight blue eyeliner. "You wake up, go to work, you're invited to an exhibition, and from there the night is yours," Pecheux explained. The trio of liner looks represents the stages of a woman's day.
Orlando Pita used the T3 BodyWaver ($149) to create a subtle curl before pulling hair back into a low ponytail. The models with turbans wore their hair down. To complete the look, Jin Soon Choi customized the "perfect beige" by layering a rosy nude, Nostalgia, ($18) with a sheer white called Tulle ($18).
