Do Bonuses and Deals Make You Buy?

This morning, an email deal popped up in my inbox. Bliss spas (save for those in New York and Hoboken) are offering a free Brazilian bikini wax with the purchase of a Triple Oxygen Treatment facial. (Details here.) The bargain hunter in me squealed and thought, "Well, it has been almost a year (!) since I've had a facial, and when you factor in the $70 that I'd save on the waxing, it's not a bad deal . . ." In general, do special deals and bonuses make you more likely to whip out your wallet?

It depends on what it is,if it's something that I need or use then yes,I also like bonus sizes too, when you get more for the same price as the smaller one.

I absolutely agree with you, Carrothead. I was just thinking about getting off the Sephora list, because they aim their advertising straight to my heart. I love freebies, and every e-mail has a new one. But, I am too addicted to the pretty pictures. I just have to learn some restraint.

I try to always steer clear or proceed with caution with all those "deals" that I get in my Inbox but sometimes I'll buy just because it's a deal. I like to save so that's the reason I subscribe to these newsletters but I know that they can also make me spend on things I didn't plan spending just because they're a "good deal" and that's not really saving, y'know?

It really depends on if I truly need something in the "deal" offer and how good the bonuses are. They are tempting at times though.

I only purchase clinique during GWP time. It really does depend on the deal though. I will say I eat out a lot more often during Dine About Town

PrincessLtrain, I have a friend who does that with baby clothes. She says she'll have a baby someday. I am pretty thrifty, and in this case, if I'd needed a facial, I would have perhaps gone for the deal... but I really don't need a facial, so I'm saving my pennies.

HA! Yes. My best friend once told me I would cat food if it were on sale...and I hate cats!
