Do You Care More About Shine or Volume?

Here's a fun thought experiment for us. Everyone wants shiny, fluffy hair, but what if you couldn't have both? What if you had to choose between shine and volume, and stick with the decision? Which one is more important to you? I know what matters more to me, but I'm not telling. I'm excited to see which one we all really care about, though.

I have fine hair that always has shine. I want big hair. I mean really, really big hair. Give me volume any day.

I want volume - I have straight, baby fine hair and shine isn't a problem for me.

I said shine only because no matter what I do, I can't get volume to my very fine, thin hair. Grrr.

If you want shine, use Neutragena hair mask. It's cheap and works great!!!

While I long for volume, the older I get, I'm 34, the shinier I want my hair!

volume; I have both but I hate shine because it usually means my hair is greasy (haha; is that just me). I love my volume; what I want is for my hair to look soft (it seems like everyone I know has that and yet they all want my shine and volume) - how do I get that?!

I have wavy african american hair, so don't think I want anymore volume haha. I want shine since my hair is dead from years of bleach.

I said shine because my hair is pretty voluminous on its own!! :)

Definitely volume for me. My hair's normally shiny but it gets limp and oily on the second day after washing.

Shine! Even after a flat iron it needs taming! No flat iron = Lion's mane! Shine all the way, it makes it look WAAAAAY healthier!

Hands down it's volume for me! Thanks for the "heads" up, missyd! I keep meaning to pick those products up, but wasn't sure how they'd do. I'll definitely check them out now.

This is a tough one! While I love a thick head of long shiny locks, flat as a pancake hair is not nice in my opinion. While it is a close run, almost 50/50, I'm gonna go with volume. On an unrelated note, I tried pantene's natural fusions or whatever it's called (the natural one) this morning, both shampoo and conditioner, and LOVED it. I mean fell in love. Made my hair incredibly soft and shiny!
