Do You Take Baths at Hotels?

As many travelers will know, sometimes even five-star hotels, no matter how pristine they may appear, have their share of problems. (Yep, I'm talking bed bugs.) But assuming that any hotel's bathtub — from the exclusive to the bargain variety — is sparkly clean, would you still bathe in it, or does the risk of being exposed to a stranger's germs creep you out?

I'm uncomfortable bathing in any tub besides my own, no matter how sparkly clean they are. It's just something I can't really bring myself to do.

In an inn or B&B with a jacuzzi and jars of bath salts to choose from - oh, yes! At the Holiday Inn off the interstate, no thanks.

I tend to stay at cheaper places that are often kinda sketchy, and I wouldn't touch the bath there with a stick... But somewhere nice and fancy, I would definitely go in if I wanted a bath. I usually prefer showers anyway, though!

Also IMO, as most tubs aren't porous they are one of the few things that are easy to get clean, if you are going to be a germaphobe it's mainly the bed and carpet I'd worry about.

Part of the fun of going to a nice hotel for me is getting the ginormous tub.
