Do You Wear Makeup to the Salon?

Confession: whenever I am going to get my hair cut or colored, I wear twice as much makeup. This is not because the salon I frequent also happens to be a favorite of Rachel Weisz and Heather Graham and I'm worried about being in the background of a paparazzi shot. It's because I go a little crazy staring at myself in natural sunlight for the time it takes my highlights to cook. Am I alone in this?

It really depends on the day. If I've just come from work, sure, if it's Saturday morning and I'm just getting up, probably not. The funny thing is the one time I actually forgot to put on makeup, so had my stylist!

I wear makeup most of the time, so it seems important to me to wear it to the salon to make sure that my highlights complement my "make up" skin tone. My natural one leaves much to be desired :-p

No, I never wear make-up anyways. I just put on sunblock. I'm one of those naked women. :)

No - unless I've already been made up for work but if it's a Sat. or non work day. Lipstick only.

I actually try not to wear makeup to the salon. I figure it's better for them to make my highlights according to my natural coloring. I've hated when I've had my hair dyed and it's required lots of foundation and blush to look ok.

Just normal makeup as if I was going anywhere else. But I've noticed that the lights at the salon washes me out so I have to reapply bronzer while being there. lol

Yes. I always put in some extra effort when going to the salon. Nothing would ruin my day more than to see freshly styled hair and my no makeup face (dark circles, acne scars, very pale skin.) I don't mind it when I am out and can hide behind my dark sunglasses however I have to look better than usual when in a salon.

I always forget (unless i go straight from work) and then get annoyed at myself when i show up in sweats and makeup free and my hair pulled back. How can my hairstylist ever get to know the real me (and cut and color towards me and not just some generic image) if i am a bed slob everytime she sees me.

It's a good idea to wear your regular makeup to the salon so the stylist can see what you normally look like. It also shows how much time you're willing to put into keeping up your look and you'll be able to see if your hair doesn't match your makeup style before you leave the salon.

I wear make up (my signature look) so my stylists knows what colours I use for lipstick and eyeshadow and blush most often so she knows what highlights and and etc will look good.

i'm actually going to get a trim in an hour and i'm only wearing powder. you see, i wear glasses and i remove them when i get a hair cut, so thankfully i can't stare at myself and freak out. i am pretty self conscious so it would bug me but at least i'm blind! woohoo. and i'm also coming from my morning job where i don't wear makeup...otherwise, i wear it all the time. so when i go to get waxes and manicures, i wear makeup.weird.

Haha...funny, I'm the receptionist at a salon, and to be honest...sometimes the stylists themselves look a little sloppy compared to the clients. I've seen some older ladies that come into the salon in all their getups and flawless makeup, but the stylists really don't even pay attention to that. They're more worried about getting color on the makeup or outfit anyway. :D

I was finding that if my face looked lackluster (to me) my hair didn't thrill me, so now I do a little extra on the eyes and I perceive my new cut or color as much more glamorous! ;)

No way!! When I visit the salon, I have 1 concern ONLY -- getting my hair done!!

I have never thought about this issue. I wear the same makeup I wear everyday, which isn't too much

I just wear my everyday normal makeup, which isn't very much anyway.

Well I'm liking to already be wearing lipstick just because I was already wearing it but I don't wear it specifically because I'm going to the salon and I actually don't like spending much time looking at my face in the mirror there. It feels really uncomfortable.

I do especially if I'm getting my hair colored. I usually wear makeup when I'm leaving the house so I want to be sure my new color works
glampop20 glampop20 7 years
I hate looking at myself in the mirror for that long. I usually put makeup to get my hair done but its lighter than usual because it tends to get washed off my forehead when they shampoo me.

yes, I wear make -up all the time anyway. I hate to walk around looking like I just woke up .

Would be weird to go out without ANY make-up.

I never leave the house without makeup. My stylist has probably seen me "naked" once or twice. That was when I was going to a formal do and wanted my makeup to complement my entire look.I usually go when I'm finished at uni for the day, so I'm happy if my eyeliner isn't halfway down my face by that point.
