The Ultimate Guide to Finding Your Perfect Shade of Brown Lipstick

Eye Makeup For Blue Eyes, Brown Eyes, and Green Eyes

Make Your Eye Color Pop With the Right Shadow Shades

Earlier this week I gave you the scoop on how to achieve Hayden Panettiere's Emmy look straight from Amy Oresman, who was responsible for the young star's eye-popping makeup. While we were at it, she shared some tips on how to make the most of your eye color. So if you've ever wondered which shades will make your eyes stand out, read on.

For green eyes: Use a warm, pink, or rose tone on the crease and underneath the eye. "That makes sparkling green eyes shine even brighter," Oresman says. She likes Neutrogena's Nourishing Eye Duo in Fairy Dust ($8.79) eye shadow.

For blue eyes: To make blue eyes sizzle, use warm bronze tones. (This cheapie quad is a great example.)

For brown eyes: "Brown-eyed babes have it made, because any warm tone works to enhance their beguiling dark eyes," Oresman says. To create a dramatic contrast against the color of the pupil and the whiteness of the eye, line the waterline of the eyes with eyeliner. (Here's how.)

ffemt1201-I agree w/the purple for green eyes. If you have warm undertones in your skin like me, a red-purple will look really awesome, and if you tend to be more cool-skinned, then a blue-purple. You can also pay attention to whether you have a warm green-flecks of yellow or gold in your eyes, or more of a cool-more bluish green.

brdwaystarlett ~ I agree with that, there is a whole shade of browns from hazel to almost black.

I love lavender and other purple tones for my green eyes. I also like this light shimmer pink/champagne cream shadow by Revlon. The Neutrogena Fairy Dust shadow duo looks nice for daytime.

i have bright green eyes and i think that only one person has really ever explained to me the BEST colors for me to use on my eyes to make the color pop. i feel like everyone tells me that all color bring out green and that i'm lucky - but it's never the case when i do it at home. i think that i'll make a trip to the store to see what i can find in a pink tone to go with the new smoky eye look that i'm going to try

I'm in the same boat as emalove...green eyed, and always getting told purple. Don't get me wrong, it works, but it is kind of dark for day. I'm definitely going to pick up the recommendation, and I'll review!

What I dislike about this post is that the advice for brown eyes doesn't apply at all for those of us with "black" eyes. My natural eye color is almost indistinguishable from my pupil. Literally. NOTHING is going to make my pupils pop.

Just like there are different shades of green and blue eyes - browns are different too!! There are browns that look practically black, deep chocolate browns and warm light brown eyes... I feel like I read a lot that I'm supposed to wear purple eyeshadow for brown eyes - but that makes me look tired and accentuates my dark under eye circles.

My eyes are green, and I find that shades of plum and violet really make them pop and bring out the color the best. But I like a more neutral eye for day, so I will definitely try the suggestion from above!

I've found that a very pale purple makes my green eyes look especially bright and gorgeous.
