Translating some runway trends into real life is well near impossible, but there are other looks too gorgeous to pass up. The following pairings will take you from a day at the office to a night on the town (and everywhere in between). Consider this your Fall makeup cheat sheet.
Sculpted Cheeks + Sheer Eyes
Add some life into the no-makeup look by playing up your bone structure with contoured cheeks. Try a matte bronze as seen at Edun, or, if you prefer a flushed color, reach for a deep rose shade instead. Finish with a soft pink tint on the lips and a metallic shimmer to accentuate the eyes.
Vampy Lip + Nude Eyes
For a sexy vibe, take a cue from Christian Siriano's runway, where models wore deep burgundy-tinted lipstick and relatively bare eyes. To get a similar look at home, sweep on a sheer champagne or bronze shadow on lids, and be sure to create a sharp Cupid's bow on the lips.
Red Lip + Smoky Eye
Even though some consider bold eyes and lips together to be a faux pas, the John Paul Gaultier runway proved that it's one rule to be broken. Update this classic, red-lipped style with a smudged smoky eye for Fall 2012.
Metallic Eyes + Nude Lip
A nude lipstick allowed high-impact eyes to take center stage, as spotted on the Roberto Cavalli catwalk. Mix and match multiple metallic shades to get a full-on mask-like effect, or, to tame this look, pick one bright, jewel-toned shade.
Graphic Eyeliner + Nude Lip
Your essential tool to getting any of the trendy, architectural eye shapes from the Fall fashion shows is a long-lasting, felt-tip liner, like the Nars Stylo ($27). Complete your avant-garde eye with a soft nude lipstick, similar to the Altuzarra presentation pictured here.
