Winter is coming! What does that mean for your skin? If you live in a temperate climate, that may not mean much. However, if the new season means dry air and serious temperature drops, here are a few things you can do to prepare your skin. Don't wait until the Winter; start right now during the Fall!
1. Use a hydrating mask: There are multiple face masks: cleansing, tightening, refining, you name it. Have you tried a moisturizing mask? It gives dry, dehydrated skin a little boost. If you have dry skin, you can try the Origins Drink Up Intensive ($24), a stronger version of the original Origins Drink Up ($19), which is more suitable for oily/normal skin.
2. Use a nighttime moisturizer: Applying a thicker moisturizer right before going to bed is a great way to infuse more moisture into your skin without having to put up with a heavy residue feeling during the day. Several brands offer heavier night moisturizer. An affordable option from the drugstore is the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Night Moisturizer ($22).
3. Try a pure oil: Dry oils or facial oils provide an ideal way to balance the skin. Apply a few drops of something like the Josie Maran Argan Oil ($48) to your face and neck during the night. You can also mix in a few drops with your regular moisturizer to make it more suitable for the drier months. A more accessible and natural alternative is rosehip oil.
