BellaSugar: What's the best part about working as a makeup artist on Glee, and what are the biggest challenges of the job?
Eryn Krueger Mekash: The best part about working as the head makeup artist for Glee is that there are so many cool and amazing characters, so we are always creating new makeup looks. Since we work on a tight schedule there is such a short period of time to master each look, but we work like a machine and make it happen!
BellaSugar: In your time working on the show, which particular beauty looks have been the most fun create and why?
EKM: I loved Lady Gaga ["Theatricality" episode] and another favorite is the zombie ["The Sue Sylvester Shuffle" episode] because we were putting together a crazy, beautiful zombie — which was awesome.
BellaSugar: What are your suggestions for those of us who want to channel our inner gleeks at home?
EKM: It is effortless to channel your inner gleek at home with a dewy complexion, rosy cheeks, and a fun lip gloss.
BellaSugar: When it comes to acne, we all have occasional breakouts. How do you help the Glee actors treat and disguise them?
EKM: A great way to conceal any breakout is to apply a primer before any makeup application. This helps to smooth out skin, most importantly the dry spots caused by acne. I love the Make Up For Ever HD Microperfecting Primer.
BellaSugar: What are your favorite makeup brands to use on set?
EKM: Some of my favorite brands to work with are Make Up For Ever and Stila. One of my favorite products is the Stila Convertible Color because it has amazing staying power.
BellaSugar: What would we be most surprised to hear about that goes on behind the scenes in the makeup department at Glee?
EKM: We are all always so happy to be there, working together.
