POPSUGAR Beauty Poll Have You Ever Gotten a Spray Tan? by Beauty 5/15/07 0 Shares Print 0 0 0 0 0 'Tis the season for fake tans, and while I'm partial to bronzers and self-tanning lotions, I don't frequent the spray-tan booth. So I'm curious: Who among you has gotten a tan professionally sprayed on? I've done airbrushing and spray tans, but I really wonder what chemicals are getting into your body when you do the spray tans. mochachino 7 years Nope brown all year round. But if I have irregular discoloration I would use it since it could even me out like if I was going to say the beach, or was wearing one of those backless strapless numbers. AMP 7 years That stuff smells like burnt chicken, I swear! I've never gotten one b/c my friends who have all end up smelling so nasty. Imari 7 years I've never used. but I'd love to!I prefer sun but I have freckles on my face and I dont want to have them on my body so I use self tanning spry by myself... Imari 7 years I've never used. but I'd love to! I prefer sun but I have freckles on my face and I dont want to have them on my body so I use self tanning spry by myself... megagirl 7 years I never have but I REALLY want one. My sister got one once and it looked absolutely awesome. Budderflie 7 years I love it. Every mondays its 10$ day and Im always finding coupons. I go twice a week and perfected it. I do keep Lancomes self tanner in case I muss up, but Ive found the perfect way to stand, when to raise my hands and after 15seconds im all tan for a week. Sure beats the 20min a day to look like I spent a weekend at the beach. Oh and since I have skin cancer, its an added bounus that Im not doing anything bad to my already screwed up skin ( I tanned too much last summer and am now paying the hefty price at 25). I say suck it up, strip down, plug up that nose and freeze your ta-tas off for 15seconds. Its worth every penny. PrissyLilBadAss 7 years NO NO NO NO! I prefer to eat carrots, not look like one. Quite a few of my friends do the Mystic tanning. And that stuff smells HORRIBLE! Blech! junebrug 7 years I've used the Liquid Sun several times. The Mystic is too dark for me and smells terrible. Pale girls do better with Liquid Sun, darker girls complain that you can't see it. I don't have enough melatonin in my skin to make the kind you put on yourself work! But the spray works well. Downsides: it's very expensive, and I've gotten two sinus infections from inhaling that stuff! It also smells but not as bad as Mystic. It's a horrifying experience for me, like drowning on purpose, but you have to keep your head about and ignore what your brain is telling you. Afterward, I have a light golden tan, which even my mother said looked "healthy." Squishy34 7 years i used to work in a tanning salon that had the spray tan and i hated it...it was so uneven and i wouldn't recommend it to anyone but i do like to go get airbrushed...all u do is stand there and they spray you down...i have never had a bad experience with it...it turns out wonderful nati 7 years Not yet, in summer I sunbathe easily, and in winter, I use a little of Self-tanners or bronzers because my skin isn't so pale.. LaLaLola 7 years Wow, I've never even tried this! Thanks to my dad me and my brother both have a naturally caramel complexion. The_coffeegirl 7 years I got a free mystic from the tanning place as a promo. I liked it - other than the smell. I wouldn't do it unless it was cheap and I needed to be tan fast. I'm too lazy to go consistently. elmendoa 7 years whoops. i meant "LANCOME FLASH BRONZE" not loreal. ;) elmendoa 7 years i do this when i have something important coming up. just don't pull a "ross"...also, i just started using Loreal's flash body bronzer, and this stuff is SOOO amazing! much better than any drug store bronzer, and worth the extra $$ to not look orange. dmartinxoxo 7 years Yeah the loreal sublime bronze lotion in light/medium is kickass! No streaks ever! Super moisturising too! I used it as a follow up to my spray tan while i was in hawaii, despite my half mexicanness I can never tan...just burn. Probably because I'm also half welsh. bookgirl 7 years My best friend who is a pale Irish girl did the Mystic Tanning last year before her wedding. It looked really good on her and natural. sexyeyes 7 years I had it done two years ago in NYC for a wedding and the results were excellent. I would do it again but it cost a lot of money b/c it was in a upscale spa. Tisane 7 years I'm pale and proud of it! No mystic tan for me, thank you. nini 7 years Does it break you out/clog pores? I have been wanting to try it for years, I'm just too scared that it will un-natural. I'm very pale. I just want a hint of a glow, not a dark tan.
