How to Choose Nude Nail Polish

One Trick to Finding the Perfect Nude Nail Polish For Your Wedding Day

Nude nails are a great alternative to the classic French manicure for brides, because they're versatile while still being modern. But finding the perfect hue to match your skin tone can prove tricky. There are a variety of flesh-toned polishes that my look chic in the bottle, but which one is right for you? Nail artist Deborah Lippmann has an easy tip for picking your perfect polish. "Our bodies tell us a lot about what colors are right and wrong to wear," Lippmann says. "If you put a color on, particularly a nude, and it doesn't fit you, your cuticle will look funky." In essence, the color of your polish will play against the cuticle in a way that will make it look dark or slightly red and ruddy. And while this trick works best for nudes, you can use it with other colors, too.

But what if you fall in love with a shade that doesn't work the first time around? You can still sometimes fudge it. "There's this one shade that I love that doesn't look right on me," Lippmann says. "But if I put a thin layer down, let it dry completely, and then add another thin layer, it looks good." Finding the right system to cheat your polish might take some trial and error, but with a little patience, your perfect nude shade will present itself to you. You just checked one more thing off your wedding checklist.

Please provide actual guidance. Trial and error is the basic idea in trying new colors- this article doesn't offer any specific advice to find the right nude shade. And I agree with the comment below that the nails in the picture are poorly applied, lending incredibility to any advice the article may have actually offered.

Where to start? The "tips" or rather "tip" for choosing nude polish is a joke. From Deborah Lippman, the queen of nail polish-ology, her tip to find the right color is to see if it makes our cuticles look funky, wow, that took some research! Deborah, just what is "funky" in reference to cuticles?
Oh yes, the very large picture at the top of this very informative article has got to be the worst fake nail application ever! You can't be serious; using this as the feature picture is an insult to any woman who looked to this page for helpful "tips". Those nails look like a five year old applied them. Get with it! PLEASE!
