If you don't have an hour to do your nails, I'm gonna show you an easy, 10-minute manicure that you can do at home to look perfectly polished no matter what. So, first thing's first. You want to make sure that you file your nails when they're completely dry, so don't soak them and then file because it will make the nails really flimsy and that will make it extremely hard to shape. The great rule of thumb, so to speak, is when you're filing, don't go back and forth. This is just because if you do do that and you have sensitive nails, it can even break them off. So when you're filing, see how I'm just going, I'm kind of turning the file but I'm going from my right to left and this is just gonna help even out and make a square shape. I want to make sure the sides are curved too. And what you do is instead of going straight up and down which is what it looks like the people at the nail salons are doing. Instead, you hold it at a 45 degree angle and you go up and over. And this is just gonna help round it out. You continue to do this for the rest of your manicure and make sure all of your nails look nice and even. Also, I'm just doing this hand today because this is too pretty to take off. But you can do both of the hands in ten minutes which is perfect. Don't forget to clean out underneath your nails. So use a tool like this one, with a very soft curve at the end. And all you need to do, you don't wanna prod all the way in there. You could really hurt your nail. So just lightly scoop out anything you can from underneath. Now that you filed the nail, it's time to push back your cuticle, and a really simple tip to do this, is to do it in the shower. So just let your hand soak about five minutes or so, and then use a wooden or metal cuticle-pushing tool like this one. Since we don't have a shower here at BellaSugar, I'm just gonna soak my hand for about 5 minutes to make sure that my cuticles are nice and soft. Start at the corner and push down lightly and then work your way across the nail be so you get the to the other end and you want to be careful not to push too hard because it could make your nail beds very sensitive. So your cuticles have been pushed back, and your nails are looking fabulous, but you want to make sure that you have protected your cuticles before we move on to the next step. So, lets just make sure that they're hydrated and it will also act as a barrier. So when you apply your nail polish later, it will fit all over your fingers. Which is a great trick. So my favorite cuticle balm is called California Mango Mend. The smell is addicting but it's also very hydrating and you don't need a lot for it to go a long way. So this is size and I always keep it with me in my purse. Just take a little bit, not even a dollop, just barely a little bit on your finger and you just smooth it around your entire nail. Also, if you can't get a hold of Mango Mend, you can easily just use Vaseline. So, apply moisturizing hand lotion that has SPF that way you can kill two birds with one stone. Make sure your hands are wrinkle-free and radiant for as long as you can. So this one has SPF 25 in it. And it's very moisturizing. And the whole key to making sure that your nails last as long as possible is just making sure that they've been hydrated everyday of the week. You want to make sure your nails are free of any kind of wetness or moisture. Your actual nail doesn't need to have anything on it 'cause the polish wont stay as well. I like to use a lacquer remover. This one by OPI, Expert Touch, is actually moisturizing for the nails, and it doesn't make the nails very dry and brittle like some can and it doesn't have that really nasty acetone smell. Use this and just lightly dab it on top of your nails just to get rid of any excess moisture. Now you wanna apply polish and One easy way out is that if you don't want to apply polish, just buff your nails, give them a good shine, and you're good to go. But I like to polish. So nudes are great for quick manicures 'cause even if you don't get the whole entire nail, nobody can tell. So find polishes that dry quickly like Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri or you can also use her salon manicure. It has all 5 manicure steps in one, including a top coat. So you don't have to worry about adding your base and then your top coat. So an easy step to painting your nails is to make a C-shape around your nail bed and then paint the rest in kind of like you're coloring. So I'll show you. Just go like this. See. It's kind of a C-shape. It's more like a moon. And then bring it down. So let's recap. We took a minute to file our nails and then while we were in the shower, we soaked our nails and pushed back our cuticles which took about five minutes. then when we hopped out, we made sure we put on a very moisturizing lotion along with a cuticle balm and made sure that any excess moisture was off of our nails. So now we're sitting pretty at seven minutes Then we applied a fast-drying polish, and it took about 3 minutes for that to dry, so now you have your 10 minute manicure. And remember, you can always prolong your Manicure by applying that hand lotion and cubical bomb everyday. I'm Curvy and thanks for watching bella sugar TV
