How to Get Angelina Jolie's Hair 2009-12-04 11:01:26

How-To: Angelina's Angelic Curls

When Angelina Jolie swaps her straight hair for soft curls, it's a mane event indeed. Last night, she, Maddox, and Mr. Pitt took in a screening of Invictus, and I'm digging her pretty, loose spiral curls. The look is also perfect for holiday parties and nights out, so I thought I'd give you a quick how-to on getting the look. To replicate Angelina's sweet spirals, just read more.

  • On wet hair, spray a high hold styling spray, like TRESemme 24 Hour Body Sculpting Spray Gel ($5).
  • Blow dry your hair, scrunching with your fingers as you go to create volume.
  • Once your hair is dry, separate it into six to eight large sections, using a clip to hold each section. Then, use a large curling iron (at least a two-inch barrel) to curl your hair, holding the iron parallel to your head as you curl to create spirals.
  • After creating each curl, pin it to the top of your head with a clip. This will help the curls set as they cool.
  • Let the curls down and loosen them a little by using your fingers to gently comb through your hair. Set with hair spray.

you can get curls to look like this if you use a STRAIGHTENING iron... the small thin ones, like the chi or sedu. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpl9KYzmJ6s for my hair at least (i have thick hair that is easily manageable) i curl my hair and then i actually comb through all the curls, and the curls actually remain intact but have a softer look. might not work for everyone though :/

@flickster -- I like to curl my hair with curling iron parallel to my head and when I'm done curling & have let the curls cool, I flip my hair upside down and tousle the hair a little JUST at the roots. I've found that this helps shake out the curls gently so they look softer and more voluminous--rather than tube-like. That being said, can't help you with the frizz issue as my hair is not prone to frizzing.

I'm not really loving it, maybe it's the forehead.

I must be doing it wrong because every time i've curled my hair and held it parallel to my head i don't get, barrels. I get tubes. all of a sudden i have zero definition in the hair piece and it's just this long section of circular hair. Also, can SOMEONE address how to actually get rid of frizz for curling? i dunno if spray gel before blow drying works for everyone else, but it for sure does not work for me.

Oh my Gosh! Beautiful as ever! I don't think I have seen one picture of Angelina that I do not like. At times she looks too thin, but still stunning! Keep it up Angie!
