Hair Color How-Tos: Brighter Blondes

For the past week, I've been providing tips on how to keep your hair color looking fresh and fade resistant. I've covered redheads, brunettes, and raven-haired beauties.

violet/blue shampoos are TRULY your bff's when you're a blonde but if you, like me are a cooler/beige-y blonde with brown low-lights in your hair and you want to keep it that way ( a.k.a. you don't want any red/warmth in your brown ) try your best to find a true blue shampoo instead of violet, otherwise it's going to add red tones to your brown.

Ahhh this reminds me- I really need to deep condition my hair! The purple/blue shampoo tip is the best! If you ever notice your hair going a bit brassy (usually happens as the toner starts to fade), a shampoo like Clairol Shimmer Lites is your BFF. I use it exclusively. Just be careful not to keep it on too long, unless you want lavender highlights!
