How to Wear Red Lipstick With Smoky Eyes

You Can Rock a Red Lip With Bold Eyes — Here's How!

The following post was written by Miranda Mendoza, who blogs at Slashed Beauty and is part of POPSUGAR Select Beauty.

We all want to rock the dramatic lip for Fall, but that leaves many to wonder what to do with the eyes. My eyes are my favorite feature to play up, and I won't ignore them just because I'm rocking a dark lip. Keep reading to see how I do my everyday Fall makeup palette.

For this look, I'm using the Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad ($6) in Berry Love. (This shade is no longer available: try Stone Taupes for a similar option.) I've applied color number one, a light peach, to my lid, inner corner, and brow bone. I used color number three, a satin taupe, on my crease, followed by color number four, a deep plum, for my outer corner.

I used the NYC Liquid Eyeliner ($4) to create a winged cat eye, and Mally Volumizing Mascara ($20) to add natural-looking volume and length.

I wanted to keep my face makeup on the lighter side, so I applied Youngblood Crème Blush in Plum Satin ($27), topped off with e.l.f.'s Baked Highlighter in Blush Gems ($3).

Now for the best part: the lips! Start off by applying concealer around your lips to prevent feathering. Next, grab Besame's Classic Color Lipstick in Noir Red ($22) and apply it carefully with a lip brush. Voilà! You've got the perfect everyday Fall look, incorporating this season's hottest colors.
