Jane Carter Solution Quench Review

What We're Sweet On: Beyoncé's On-Tour Hair Essential

If it's good enough for Beyoncé, it's good enough for me. Everyone may have been focused on her new pixie cut on Instagram, but a familiar yellow and orange label caught my eye. Jane Carter Solution had a prime place on the singer's vanity. It seems that Beyoncé and I are both fans of the natural brand for curly girls. In fact, their new Quench leave-in conditioner ($10) has become a daily staple for me.

Washing my kinky hair every day is not an option, but without the moisture, my hair can get dry day after day. So I need something to keep my strands hydrated without messing up my Afro. Quench is infused with rosemary and sage to moisturize and soy protein to strengthen. Although I rarely comb my hair while it's dry, a healthy spritz of Quench helps me detangle easily. This means my second-day (or fourth-day) hair is just as soft as day one. This spray has a warm sandalwood scent that quickly stamps out the smell of smoke — a problem if you spend a lot of time at music festivals, whether you're in the audience like me or on the stage like Bey.
