Japanese Saline Bagelhead Body Modification

People in Japan Are Getting Bagelheads

Vice has a fascinating piece on the "bagelhead" body modification trend in Japan. Some young people have taken to infusing their foreheads with saline to create bulges and "bagel" or "donut" shapes. It's not a permanent effect, but the look is certainly noticeable. It's a fascinating read, and the pictures are amazing. What do you think of this form of body art? Is it any different, really, than popular American cosmetic procedures?

Not bagelheads. Buttheads, as in Hemorrhoid Cushion Heads!   Bored, malignant narcissists. Anything to arrest attention to a meaningless existence, chosen by wholly self-absorbed miscreants. Pray they don't procreate.

This really isn't anything new...people have been experimenting with implants for a long time. I don't see the appeal, but to each their own.

Is it really any better or worse than the trend to get implants that look like "horns" on the forhead? Nope.

Thumbs down. I like Gaga's fake alien cheeks and shoulders, but this is not appealing or interesting.

Lol countchocula! It just seems so....bizarre. If a guy came up to me with that look going on, I'd surely go the opposite way..

I don't find anything appealing about a butthole on your forehead.

Sigh I don't know Annie, I don't know. But I sure don't like what those kids are doing to my stomach. I wish they'd keep body art and food separate and show the latter some more damn respect.

We have a farmers market outside the building, and they were selling pretzels. And that made me think of the foreheads, which in turn made me lose my appetite. WHAT IS THIS CRAZY WORLD COMING TO?

I read what Annie wrote and got hungry, then read what Fuzzleswrote and started feeling sick again. This whole post is making me very confused.

@Annie Me too and I don't even like pretzel. I bet this fad will come to the US in six months time.

I just want to stick my finger in the center of it. Kind of like when the Pillsbury Dough Boy takes it in the belly button.

Well, great. Now I want a pretzel.

Been thinking about that for the last half hour or so, and now all I want to know is: can they make it pretzel-shaped?
