Inspiration can come from just about anywhere, and that fact was never more apparent than at Jen Kao's Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week show. The statement-making long, straight hair was reminiscent of the '70s but also reminiscent of the three Afghan Hounds that walked with the models. Lead hairstylist James Pecis for Bumble and Bumble braided most of the models' own hair away before adding 24-inch extensions to each of their heads. "It's supposed to exude '70s glamour," he said. "So you've got this long, flawless hair paired with these expensive Afghan Hounds. It's just glamorous and beautiful."
Since the hair was so statement-making, lead makeup artist Yadim for MAC Cosmetics focused on gorgeous, luminous skin. The main attraction was bold brows, which were brushed up and feathered. "It's the feel of modern cool," he said. Manicures were by Morgan Taylor Nail Alliance and were kept natural and nude.
