Staying true to the Kate Spade New York aesthetic, the Spring 2014 collection was a vibrant mishmash of color with that signature dash of retro flair. For the presentation, the bright colors of the clothing were offset with splashes of white. The makeup, by Neil Scibelli for Jouer Cosmetics, was a mix of Barbie-inspired color on the lips with a bubblegum-pink lipstick (appropriately named Kate) and Sophia Loren-style eye makeup with a double cat eye in contrasting black and white.
The white theme was also spotted in the manicure by Deborah Lippmann. A manicurist backstage revealed that next season's nails will have a touch of length with an almond shape, so start growing out your nails now. Finally, hairstylist Tommy Buckett created a tousled topknot because when the temperatures rise, every woman wants her hair up and out of the way. The key to replicating the look is to "just flip your head over," he explained.
