Keratosis pilaris, a skin condition commonly referred to as "chicken skin," affects roughly 40 percent of adults — and many people don't even realize they have it. In fact, most self-diagnose it as body acne. And while keratosis pilaris doesn't hurt, it can be annoying to deal with.
