Kim Kardashian Says Her Lips Look Bigger Because of the Flu; Is That Possible?

Can the Flu Make Your Lips Puffy Like Kim K Says?

Kim Kardashian has been fighting off rumors that she got collagen or fillers injected after a video of her with puffed-up lips surfaced. Kim, however, says that's silly. "Not true," she told Extra. "I have the flu. I'm puffy and swollen, and I have no makeup on." Plus, she says she'd never try lip injections. "I think my lips are big enough to my taste level," she added.

I've been down with the flu myself for most of this week. It did make me look different, but I only wish taut, extra-pouty lips had been my lot, instead of crappy skin and rheumy eyes. I can totally understand Kim's point about not having makeup on, but have you ever gotten a plumped-up pout from falling ill? Or are Kardashian illnesses, like so many other things about the clan, just beyond the ken of mere mortals? If you haven't seen the video people are talking about, just keep reading.

Having to look at this woman makes my brain feel puffy.

Her whole faced looked puffy, so absolutely. I'm a nurse and have seen some crazy things so totally possible. I am so shocked at how puffy my own face becomes with hormone swings--and I have a very clean diet and exercise daily. It happens!

Mine plump up too when I get sick sometimes. Of course, I get the really dead fish look, crappy skin, runny eyes and watery eyes, but I do notice that my lower lip gets swollen. Of course, I'm too miserable to enjoy it. The 102-103 fever doesn't help!

I tend to have this problem when I get sick, I just recently got over the flu and the whole time my lips were swollen and really red like I was wearing lipstick and got injections.

While I don't like defending her (how on earth did they get famous? Ick.) I can totally relate to it. When my sinuses get really clogged, and I have to breathe out of my mouth, my lips puff up and are prone to sticking out, looking swollen (attractive image, huh?)

It's actually happened to me too. I also once had an allergic reaction to a lip gloss and my lips were so swollen I couldn't close my mouth!!! In Kim's case (or 'kase' lol) I guess I believe her, but who knows...

Actually, this happens to me too. Whenever I get the flu, I get really flushed cheeks and swollen lips. I would maybe like it if the rest of me didn't feel like crap :)
