Lindsay Lohan Is Being Slammed on Social Media For Makeup-Shaming Ariana Grande

Thanks to vlogger NikkieTutorials, many of us now know what "makeup-shaming" is: a very real, very unfortunate form of bullying that consists of haters insulting someone for their love of cosmetics. Some may be familiar with the more subtle take, such as when a date tells you that "you'd be so much prettier if you wore less makeup." However, just as offensive is the blatant "too much makeup" remark. And to our great surprise, actress Lindsay Lohan left this exact comment on an Instagram post of talented musician Ariana Grande.

Instagram user @djmikeypop captured the above screenshot of the comment, which Lindsay left on a selfie of Ariana with Hairspray Live! costar Dove Cameron. @djmikeypop's screenshot had apparently been removed by Instagram, but he has reposted it for all of his followers to see.

As you might imagine, Ariana's fans — who are fiercely loyal — are attacking Lindsay on social media for the three-word statement. "Too much drugs," clamored many in response, while others offered "too much plastic," or "too much crack." "ARIANA GRANDE'S PONYTAIL IS LONGER THAN THE COMBINED DAYS OF YOUR SINGING AND ACTING CAREER!" declared Instagram user @jareddevil.

While we don't think that anyone deserves to be harassed on the internet, that goes for Ariana Grande, too, who was insulted by Lindsay just for being herself. The singer simply posted a photo (likely in hair and makeup from filming, no less!), and the Mean Girls actress left this needlessly insulting comment. How much or how little makeup Ariana wears is exclusively up to her. (That said, we hope she continues to rock this cat eye with pink eye shadow, because it looks incredible on her olive complexion!)

Ariana has not yet released a statement, but we will update this post with new information as it becomes available.
