New York Fashion Week featured a variety of manicures, but there were three trends that stood out most: neutral palettes; modern French tips; and deep, layered shades. From Joy Cioci to Hervé Léger, see the styles you'll be falling in love with come Fall 2012 — but will want to try out now.

Hey, it's Kirby with your Bella Beauty Beat, and get ready because this season the nail trend is chic and effortless. Designers like Herve Leger focused on unfussy, natural nails, while Jenny Packham rich, layered shades. Here's a look at what we spotted at New York Fashion Week. Many designers had understated manicures that looked and effortless. Models of Hervé Léger wore a clear regular lady-like pink, while sheer base with cream undertone was seen at Reem Acra. A Victoria Beckham's runway, nails are painted neutral shade which looked polished but not overdone. Many designers had natural nails with a pop of color at the tip, adding edge to the classic French manicure. Deborah Lippmann painted a modern French nail for Donna Karan using red, while Tycoon painted a butter cream shade with a shiny black. Instead of using polish, Joy [xx] used mesh for the tips to create a textured look. most nails might have looked black, but take a closer look. They were actually dark shades of green, blue, red, and brown, a style that was created by layering different colors. Jenny Packham matched her 1940's-themed with a crimson patent leather look on the nails, and Rachel Roy painted dark emerald over black. C & D mixed three polishes at West Gordon to create a midnight blue and then added a matte This year the trends are pretty straight forward.
