The neo-romantic collection coming down the runway at Nanette Lepore's Spring 2014 show translated directly to a beauty look consisting of wispy hair and bright red lips. "The look is soft but edgy," lead stylist Jeanie Syfu for Tresemmé said. Therefore, Syfu created a "whimsical, matte texture" in the hair to complement the light and airy fabrics in the collection. To get an edgy feel, she set the hair with elastics to achieve natural-looking bends in the hair. Shine was minimized by applying Fresh Start Color Care Dry Shampoo ($5).
Makeup artist James Kaliardos for MAC Cosmetics went for a soft, contoured complexion paired with a red lip color: Velvetease Lip Pencil in Lovers Lane (available Spring 2014). The chunky pencil created a soft line that made it less harsh than a typical red lip hue. And Michelle Saunders for Essie used Blanc ($8) on the nails, a crisp white that Nanette's daughter picked for the show.
