If you're in London any time between now and September 26, you might consider checking out an exhibition that's sure to leave you with lots to think about. The city's Wellcome Collection gallery is currently showing Skin (careful—not all images are safe for work), an exhibition exploring what it calls the "most overlooked human organ."
Included are works of art from the last two hundred years showing how skin has been celebrated and pathologized—everything from the skin jewelry at right to old sun cream ads and actual pieces of human skin with tattoos on them. It's a disquieting but ultimately compelling gathering of images and objects, and definitely a unique experience.
