Nexxus Sleek Memory Straightening Smoothing Spray Review

Doing Drugstore: Nexxus Sleek Memory Straightening Smoothing Spray

Determined to protect my hair against heat styling, I picked up Nexxus Sleek Memory Straightening Smoothing Spray ($12.99). When just a heat protectant spray would have done, I'm always curious about hair products that say they can change the texture of your hair (not products like at-home perms, but products like Wash 'N Curl Shampoo). But the claim Nexxus makes on this spray seems semi-plausible: their Sleek Memory technology can lock in the results of a heat styling tool. Whether that's true remains to be seen, but my hair definitely made it through a run-in with my flat iron without static. The downside is that my hair had a somewhat starchy feeling afterwards, which I suppose is better than being fried to the core. Can't win 'em all.

This really seems impossible to me. If you want straight hair you'll have to put the effort into it.

Thanks for reviewing this, I had been wanting to try it. I was let down by ther Gorgeous curls mousse though :( I still had plenty of frizz after using that product.

I'm one very pleased user of Sleek Memory since past 5 months. It does straighten out my hair & drastically reduce frizz with just the help of a blowdryer (yay, no flatiron needed :) ). But my locks seem to retain no "memory" of the straightening after the next shampoo. Shouldn't 5 months be long enough to train even the most stubbornly forgetful hair? This product and Fekkai's Ironless straightening balm have kept me from investing in an iron.. Plus the thermal protection is a great bonus which the Fekkai balm lacks :D
