Step 1 What’s Your Reaction? Share this reaction with your friends! To protect your natural nails, paint a base coat like Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Smooth and Strength Base Coat ($8), and allow it to dry. Then paint a coat of white polish, and allow it to dry. Step 2 What’s Your Reaction? Share this reaction with your friends! Using scissors, cut the makeup sponge in half. Dampen the sponge — this is the key to the ombre look. Take one piece of sponge and paint red on it. Then place the sponge at the top of the nail. Rock it back and forth, and then remove. Dab on more red where needed. You'll repeat the process but with blue. Put the sponge on the base of the nail and rock back and forth. Dab on any blue where needed. If needed, you can cut another section of sponge, paint white polish, and dab on any areas needed. Add a clear topcoat or add glitter! The Final Look What’s Your Reaction?
