Product Review: Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash

Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash ($22) is one of those products I hear about all the time but, until recently, had never tried. This face wash is marketed as a "two-in-one," because it combines a cleanser with "exfoliating gel," but really, it's a pretty basic face wash — that's a good thing — with tiny beads to help slough off dead skin.

The first thing I noticed about Fabulous Foaming Face Wash was the scent. The clear blue gel contains rose-hip extract, milk thistle, and passion flower, but the dominant essence is undoubtedly chamomile, which smells very natural and fresh.

Other than that, I wasn't bowled over by this cleanser the first time I used it. It was perfectly pleasant, but not exactly "fabulous," and the effect didn't feel that different from some good drugstore options, such as L'Oreal Pure Zone. However, the more I used it, the more I started to like it, so

After using Fabulous Foaming Face Wash for a few weeks, I began to understand what's so great about it, and that is the long-term effect is has on your skin. The Bliss website promises that this "non-stripping formula ... rebalances even the most schizophrenic of skins," and I couldn't agree more.

Since I started using this Bliss cleanser, my combination skin has been behaving beautifully. It feels smoother and more even without being too dry or too oily. And though at first, $22 seemed a bit steep for an everyday, rather ordinary cleanser, I realized that you need such a tiny amount that one bottle would probably last forever.

Have any of you tried this? If so, what do you think?

I didn't like this face wash at all. Since it says "foaming" I was expecting some lather, but it was really hard to get a soapy lather out of it. I'd give it 2 stars.

I switch off between this and a gentler cream cleanser, and that combination seems just about perfect for my slightly oily skin.

i've gone through many face cleansers in my life, and this one is arguably one of the best! the roughness of the exfoliating gel feels really good as it doesn't irritate or dry out your skin. i have relatively normal skin that gets a little oily during the summer and i can use it all year round. i'm all for this product by bliss...it's worth the $22!

Ooh, I really need to give this a try. My skin doesn't look all that bad, but it feels kind of uneven at times.

i ADORE bliss products. i really feel like paying a lil extra for something you rub on your face EVERY day is not an issue. i have never had a negative experience with a bliss product and ive been a bliss junkie for about 8 years now. maybe more. from their body scrubs, super huge soap bars, even their cuticle cream. i was so excited that my face cream just ran out cause ive been dying to try their new "youth as we know it" face cream!

I might give this a try. In general though, I find Bliss products to be a bit hit or miss.

Funny you should ask, cowgirlredd, because today I'm starting a five-part series on face creams for different skin types. Stay tuned for the post on combination skin later this week. :)

i love this facewash! my first time was at a Westin Hotel, where they had samples of the Bliss products in the bathroom. i loved it so much, i asked housekeeping for more! when that finally ran out, i went straight to sephora for the big bottle. it is steep for face wash, but the effect is worth it. it made my not-so-great skin so soft and even-looking. and the scent is wonderfully soothing. i would def recommend it!!

You're right, Bella, for $22, it is a little steep in my opinion, but if it lasts awhile I'd at least give it a try. I keep thinking about those milk products you reviewed awhile ago - I want to try that first!
