Product Review: Boscia Oil-Free Daily Hydration SPF 15

I recently bought Boscia Oil-Free Daily Hydration SPF 15 ($27), hoping for a great everyday moisturizer. Does it live up to my expectations? Yes and no.

The product comes in a tube with a pump dispenser, which I like because it allows the product to be delivered sanitarily. It is virtually scent free, and has the texture and appearance of a lightweight sunscreen. The weird thing about this moisturizer is that while my skin initially feels moisturized, literally 10 minutes later, my face feels sticky, tight, and even drier than before I put it on. I can't tell if this is because it doesn't absorb well enough into my skin, or if it just simply isn't moisturizing enough.

Another oddity about this moisturizer is that it pills up a bit when I apply primer over it. This can be remedied if I wait a full 15 minutes for it to soak in first, but I just don't have that kind of time in the morning. I am not going to be tossing the tube — mostly because I refuse to waste my $27 — and I keep hoping it will grow on me. It's not horrible, and maybe if my skin were oilier, I would appreciate the lightness of it even more.

I just don't think that SPF 15 is enough, I need at least SPF 30 on my skin daily.

I need my face to feel moisturized all day and that is a huge part of the decision on what product to buy. That rules this one out.

I've tried these products and they did nothing for my skin. I might as well have just used water. I even tried the vitamins they have and those didn't help clear up my acne at all :(

Argh I HATE when stuff pills up. Fifteen minutes is quite often more time than I have in the morning - that's simply ridiculous! I think I'll skip this.

It sounds horrible! I definitely won't try this!

I have combination/acne prone skin & I bought this, but returned it b/c I would end up looking greasy halfway through the day. I also noticed it pills up (even w/nothing else on top of it).

Same problems here-particularly the drying. I'd need several coats of for it to do anything. I was sad, finding a good daily moisturizer with spf that doesn't make me shiny is hard. I still have my tube, I purchased a small one, and I'm going to try to use it up maybe under another moisturizer. The other products I've used from them are fabulous, so I think this might be an isolated case.

I had that experience (the pilling problem) with their eye cream! So strange! I actually really liked it but I had to wait so long to put eye make-up on after I had applied it that it didn't work for my morning routine.

I have this moisturizer, I got it in the normal/oily skin kit. I have to say I haven't run into any of those problems. I've been using it on and off for about two months now (I went out and got the big bottle when my little one ran out) and I absolutely love it. While my skin is normal/combination, I live in a hot, humid climate, and I agree with jeda21... it has definitely helped with the oilies than inevitably occur when I'm outside. I know that what works for one gal may not work for another, but personally I'd buy this again and again. I also raved about it to a few of my friends (some of whom live in drier, colder places than I) and they have bought it and liked it as well. Boscia is such a great line, imo. Sorry you had a bad experience, Bella :(

If you don't like the moisturizer, by all means send it to me ! LOL I've recently become familiar with the boscia line, particularly the purifying cleanser and their clear complexion treatment. They've done wonders for overactive oilies as the weather gets warmer. So far so good!
