Put Decorative Soaps Out of Your Sight

L'Occitane at ShopStyle

As the saying goes, Mother knows best. So here's a tip from my very own mom. Have you ever gotten gifted a set of those tiny hand soaps that some people put on display? Now maybe if I had a guest bathroom or knew guests who'd be impressed by a soap display (who are these people?!), I'd choose to use them. But it doesn't seem practical for most of us.

Well, even though my parents have plenty of space, my mom puts those pretty bars in a drawer with her delicates. That way, the rarely used soaps don't morph into shapeless blobs, but the fragrances replace those pricey satchels to keep her clean things smelling fresh inside the drawer. Plus, if you ever do run out of soap, you've got backup.

I like decorative soaps but unfortunately I'm allergic to most soaps so keeping them in my delicates drawer will probably cause me more pain than anything else. But what worked really well is something my sister did. She bought some lovely Chanel perfume when she was overseas and kept the bottle in her tallboy with the cap off. After a quick spritz she'd put it in a different drawer. The perfume didn't change scent and her entire tallboy smelled amazing!

Hahaha! Hysterical and smart...I never wanted to use those things when there were gifted. Now I know what to do.

I agree, Bella--who are those people impressed by mini handsoaps?! LOL Although those little butterfly ones are kind of cute.
