With temperatures nearing 100 degrees, Rachel Roy has solved our biggest Summer hair problem as of late: limp, sweat-soaked hair around the hairline. We were getting bored of the plain ponytail and go-to topknot, so this headband braid spotted at the Australian Fashion Foundation Summer Party is one to try. The style prevents the strands around your hairline from getting sweaty, and you can even try this look if you need to hide away your bangs.
To re-create the look, make a horizontal part from behind one ear across to the other ear. Pull the remainder of hair back into a clip to keep it out of the way. Divide the front section in two with a side part, as seen on Roy. French braid each section downward and back, securing the braid with two crisscrossed bobby pins behind each ear. To make sure the hair around the hairline is smooth, use an old toothbrush spritzed with hair spray to tame flyways. Let the rest of your hair fall forward over the braids to hide the horizontal part.
